A new Premier League season is back and so are mouthwatering clashes. After Manchester united left it too late to snatch three points against Fulham on Friday night, it was the turn of Liverpool and the Co. to continue with the opener weekend showdowns.
Here is how it went down...
Ipswich Town baptism of fire...
New boys Ipswich Town were taught lunch time premier league lesson by the new-look Liverpool as they haplessly let in two unanswered goals. Mohamed Sala continued with his incredible goal-scoring streak on opening weekends with superb effort. Diogo Jota slotted home the second to cap a perfect afternoon for EPL managerial debutant, Arn Slot.

A hard fought victory for the Gunners...
A 2-0 score line may seem a comfortable win but it wasn't the case for the title challengers. Arsenal were made to sweat for the three points v Wolves. Mikel Arteta's men began the clash with high tempo, dominating the play from the onset. The offensive efforts paid off the in the 25th minute as Kai Haverzt headed home a Bukayo Saka volley to put the North Londoners ahead. What was then supposed to be a cruising victory became nervy in the second half as tables turned. Gary O'Neil's men threatened to obliterate the Emirates mood by mounting a string of offensive threats. The gunners were conspicuously overwhelmed by the Wolves unprecedented dominance with the highlight of it being Saliba's mispass that almost gifted Wolves an equalizer. David Raya spared the French defender's blushes by making an incredible save to keep the Arsenal advantage. A trademark strike from Saka; cutting from the right flank, killed Wolves hopes of getting back to into the game. The second goal offered Arsenal much needed breather. They were able to control the rest of the encounter much to the reprieve of Mikel Arteta who could not hide his concerns in much of the second half.
